ACADEMIC PROGRESSION & ELIGIBILITY POLICY

The Academic Progression & Eligibility Policy of the College states the rules governing eligibility for promotion from one semester to the next, continuation of studies, and clearance of backlog courses in accordance with the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), and the academic regulations of R. A. Podar College of Commerce & Economics (Autonomous).


Passing Requirements

  • Securing a minimum of 40% marks in Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE).
  • Securing a minimum of 40% marks in the Semester-End Examination (SEE).
  • Passing both components separately, wherever applicable.
  • Obtaining the prescribed passing grade as per the College grading regulations.

Academic Progression

Progression Eligibility
Semester I → Semester II Automatic
Semester II → Semester III Maximum 4 backlog (F Grade) courses in Semesters I & II
Semester III → Semester IV Automatic
Semester IV → Semester V Maximum 4 backlog (F Grade) courses in Semesters III & IV
Semester V → Semester VI Automatic

Backlog Courses

Students shall register for backlog examinations whenever offered by the College and shall successfully clear all backlog courses before the award of the degree.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION – B.COM. (HONOURS) & B.COM. (RESEARCH)

Examinations for the 4th Year B.Com. (Honours) and B.Com. (Research) programmes shall be conducted semester-wise. The evaluation shall comprise the following components:

Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) 50%
Semester-End Examination (SEE) 50%

The final result shall be declared based on the combined performance of the student in both the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) and the Semester-End Examination (SEE), in accordance with the applicable Examination Ordinances and Programme Regulations.
