Study Smart Session Series:
The primary thought behind arranging a series of sessions for failed students was "Inclusive Growth" which meant that the self development center is not just for the students who excel in their academics but also for the ones who did not fair well in the exams, who have experienced failures and find it difficult to handle the failure. It was also initiated as a preventive measure. The students were encouraged to not allow failure to become a recurring phenomenon in their academics. The self development center had arranged a series of seven sessions for the students who failed in some or all subjects. In all, 23 students attended the session.
Life skills development series were arranged with a perspective to help the library staff to grow as an individual and also as a valuable employee. Ten different interactive group sessions were held in the self development centre to work on prominent skills. Following are the ten sessions held in the series:
- Rapport building:
- Positive thinking:
- Stress management:
- Self esteem:
- Time management:
- Communication Skills:
- Team Building:
- Goal Setting:
- Office Values:
This series ended with a valedictory session wherein, Principal Dr. Shobana Vasudevan, SDC Head Ms.Jajoo and Librarian Mr.Patil attended the sesssion and shared their thoughts with members and felicitated them.
'Mentoring is a brain to pick, an ear to listen and a push in the right direction'
The Self Development Centre believes in all round development of our students. The centre uses innovative practices for the same. An opportunity was given to the T.Y.B.Com. students to serve a friend, philosopher, guide in short be a 'Mentor' to the F.Y.B.Com. students, who are presently at the stage of transition from junior to senior college. Four students from T.Y. volunteered to be 'The Mentor'. This Mentoring Programme will not only benefit the F.Y. students to be the ultimate 'Podarite' but also help the T.Y. students to become better leaders in the future.
