The PLACEMENT CELL of the R.A.PODAR COLLEGE OF COMMERCE & ECONOMICS works towards providing recruitments to the students pursuing B.Com, BMS, M.Com from the College, as well as, the ex-students of the College. Every year, the Placement Cell team makes many efforts, under the guidance and with the support of the Chairperson, to bring the most esteemed companies of the nation to the college campus and also to ensure that the maximum number of students is recruited. These efforts are carried out on dual efforts as described below:

At the college level    At the company level
  1. The Placement Cell publicizes the Campus Recruitment Week by
    • Making Class-to-Class announcements
    • Putting up posters and charts all over the college
    • Writing notice boards to keep the students up-to-date
  2. Thereafter, the Cell starts its year by accepting registrations from the students of the College. These students include those pursuing B.Com, BMS and M.Com from the college, as well as, the ex-students of the college.
  3. Students can register with the Cell by handing over their resumes and a registration fee of Rs. 100 to the designated Executive-Members of the Cell.
  4. Once registered, these students are kept updated via e-mails as well as through the many notice boards that the Placement Cell puts up.
  5. Just a week prior to the Campus Recruitment Week, the Cell holds a Pre-placement meet informing the students of the job-profiles of all the companies expected to come to the campus as well as advising them of the behaviour and the attire expected from them during the week.
  6. Students are allowed to only sit for a certain number of companies during the Week, in order to give a fair chance to all.

  1. Designated Executive-Members begin approaching the Companies, at the beginning of the process, and inquiring about their job profiles, by contacting the Human Resources (H.R.) department of the Company. The Cell trains certain Executive-Members to talk to companies.
  2. If a company’s job profile fits into the pre-determined job profiles accepted by the Cell, the Executive-Member responsible for the Company sends the College Profile, which details the courses offered, the general profile of the students as well as the College itself, to the Company H.R. department.
  3. In order to ensure a smooth and efficient working of the process, one Executive-Member is designated one Company. This member is solely responsible for all the correspondence with the Company as well for tending to the needs of the Company till the Campus Recruitment Week.
  4. Once, the College Profile has been sent, the Executive-Members request a final confirmation from the Company. Once a Company approves, it is designated a time-slot for recruitment during the Week. There are 3 time-slots (Morning, Afternoon and Evening) per day.
  5. The Cell tends to the logistical or any other requirements of the Companies during the week.
The Placement Cell holds the CAMPUS RECRUITMENT WEEK in order to provide recruitment to the students registered with it. Once the students are shortlisted, they are kept informed of any further developments by the Cell.
