Research Methodology Course in Social Sciences for Ph.D. students
R.A. Podar College of Commerce & Economics in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi is organizing a ten days “Research Methodology Course in Social Sciences for Ph.D. Students” from 27th October to 5th November, 2014.
The workshop aims at orienting young researchers in social sciences to both quantitative and qualitative methods of research analysis.
The programme will predominantly follow the Research Methodology Syllabus designed by the ICSSR, New Delhi.
Objective of the Programme
- To strengthen abilities of participants in writing research proposal, research reports to improve their publication.
- To enable the participants to prepare research design.
- To introduce the participants to various methods and techniques of research in Social sciences.
- To train the participants to apply statistical tools and handle data processing and analysis using statistical packages.
Eligibility of the Participants:
Candidates who are Research Scholars in any branch of Social Sciences are eligible to apply on the prescribed format.
How to apply:
Interested candidates can apply to the Course Coordinator along with duly filled up registration form on or before 7th September, 2014. Registration form can also be downloaded from the College website www.rapodar.ac.in. A copy of application may be send to the Course Coordinator through e-mail (info@rapodar.ac.in). Such application should be followed by hard copy of the application along with registration form. The duly filled in registration form must be accompanied with the following enclosures:
- A brief note about his/her thesis and its progress;
- A brief write up about the reasons for his/her participation in the workshop (maximum 500 words).
Selected candidates would be informed by 14th September, 2014 by e-mail.
Time & Venue of the Workshop:
Date: 27th October to 5th November, 2014.
Venue: Seminar Room, R.A. Podar College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai.
Registration
The applicant has to register for the courses after the confirmation of his/her selection for the course. The registration fees are as follows:
Faculty members: Rs.1000/-
Research Scholars with fellowship: Rs.500/-
Research Scholars without fellowship: Rs.200/-
Accommodation & Travel Allowance:
Accommodation to outstation participants will be provided (on request) on twin sharing basis. All selected outstation participants will be paid Travel allowance as per ICSSR guidelines.
