Scholarships

Podar College, right from its inception year has always aimed at providing a fair chance to all its deserving students. In the quest to hone the talents of such students, every year Podar offers Scholarships.

The various types of scholarship given by Central and State Government are made available to the students. In addition, the college provides financial assistance and free education for the student with meritorious achievements in sports, athletics and academics. The college issues a prospectus giving guidance to the students about admission, fees and about student support activities.

Mentoring

Identifying the need of F.Y.B.Com students to deal with the transition phase from junior college to senior college, the ‘Mentoring’ Sessions’ took shape. These workshops were taken by some T.Y.B.Com students out of free-will. It was done so as they could better empathise with them, since; they had gone through the same phase earlier. These workshops aimed at making the students comfortable to the senior college environment and help them enhance their personality. Each of these weekly sessions helped them undertake a SWOT analysis of themselves and thereafter work on it.

Methodology

• An informal introduction of the student mentors wherein they shared their past experiences.
• Memory game – a way to know their batch mates
• Rebus puzzle – to enhance their lateral thinking skills.
• Group discussions.
• A general discussion on their FC project topics and tips on how to make better presentations.

Future Plans

We intend to have a help desk wherein these students could interact with us as per their need and requirement.
